The Hermitage Hotel is proud to be part of a very small but active community, where there is never a shortage of things to see and do, or a shortage of volunteers who put their hands up to make things happen. This year we are proud to be the major sponsor of our local football netball club – the Harrow Balmoral Kangaroos – and we are grateful for the reciprocal support the club gives us through social events throughout the season.
The hotel regularly hosts residents and guests to the town for community events including:
- The Harrow Sound and Light Show, co-ordinated by the Harrow Progress and Development Group – a theatrical spectacular, visiting the time of early settlement where guests can get involved with the chase and courtroom antics of a bushranger, an outback wedding or a local funeral, while taking in the sights and sounds of our lovely town. For tickets and information, phone The Harrow Discovery Centre on 03 5588 1387.
- ‘You Must Remember This …’, in conjunction with the Harrow Discovery Centre – a trip back in time to the war years, where ration cards are the norm, six o’clock closing is enforced on the pub and our barmaid, Doris McDonald, does her best to stir up the local temperance activist, Mavis Davis. For information and bookings, phone the Harrow Discovery Centre on 03 5588 1387 or visit The Harrow Discovery Centre website – click HERE.
- Monthly seniors lunches – our senior residents join us for a two-course lunch and social get-together in our dining room.
